Amelia Lee Ties for Fifth to Lead Way at Akron Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – Sophomore Amelia Lee posted a career-best fifth-place finish to help the Toledo women's golf team move up one spot into fifth place on Saturday in the final round of the Akron Invitational. The tournament was held at the par-71, 6,265-yard Portage Country Club.
Lee fired a one-over par 72 in today's final round to finish four strokes out of first place at seven-over par 149. She was followed by freshman Angel Hii (160/T-30th), freshman Macy Hanus (161/T-32nd), freshman Cheryl Hong (161/T-32nd) and sophomore Claudia Sampson (169/38th).
Freshman Kait Natividad (80-80=161/T-32nd) and sophomore Kathryn Roth (83-81=164/T-35th) competed as individuals.
Indianapolis captured the tournament title at 30-over par 598 (296-302). The Greyhounds' Cailyn Henderson earned medalist honors with a three-over par 145 (73-72)
Toledo will head back to Northeast Ohio next week when it competes in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 23-24 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Stow, Ohio.
