LEESBURG, Fla. – Senior pitcher Erin Hunt fanned a school-record 15 batters on Sunday evening, but Toledo ended up on the short end of a 4-2 (8 inn.) decision against New Mexico State (9-10) in its final contest of The Spring Games. The Rockets (6-5) dropped a 9-1 (5 inn.) decision earlier in the day to FGCU and finished the tournament with a 3-3 record.

 "We got a great game from Erin in Game 2 but made a few mistakes and hit into some bad luck," said Head Coach Joe Abraham about the Rockets' loss to the Aggies. "It was a very good, competitive game that was a great learning experience for us. It hurts to lose but it's a game that will help us in the long run."

Toledo took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning, but NMSU evened the score in the bottom of the frame. The Aggies won the game in the eighth on a two-run walk-off homer by redshirt freshman Ramsey Lopez.

The Rockets fell behind in the first inning but battled back to take the lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth. Junior Aleah Marra's sacrifice fly tied the score at 1-1 in the fourth, and sophomore Leah Munson's single put Toledo ahead. The Rockets had a chance to do even more damage in the fifth

In its first game of the day, Toledo limited FGCU to just two hits through three innings before the Eagles broke through for six runs in the top of the fourth.

The Rockets plated their only run of the game on sophomore Jaiden Batyik's RBI groundout in the fifth inning.

Toledo will now be idle until opening its Mid-American Conference season with a four-game series at Kent State on Friday-Sunday, March 19-21.
