TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team will compete in the first-ever Chattanooga Classic on Monday and Tuesday, March 29-30 at the par-72, 6,159-yard Black Creek Club. The opening day of the tournament will consist of 36 holes and begin with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. The final round on Tuesday will utilize tee times starting at 8:00 a.m.
"This is the first year of the Chattanooga Classic, and we are looking forward to competing against a great mix of teams, many we haven't seen yet," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said.
Â
The Rockets will be competing against a 13-team field that includes UAB, Colorado State, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Iowa, James Madison, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Murray State, Samford, Western Kentucky and the host Mocs.
Â
Toledo's lineup for the tourney will include freshman Angel Hii at No. 1, freshman Macy Hanus at No. 2, sophomore Amelia Lee at No. 3, freshman Kait Natividad at No. 4 and sophomore Claudia Sampson at No. 5. Sophomore Kathryn Roth will be competing as an individual.
"We are excited to see how the youth on this team continues to improve now that we have played two tournaments," Coluccio said. "The team has really bought into our system and each time we tee it up allows us to gain more feedback on how we are progressing overall,"
Â
Hii leads the Rockets with a 72.7 stroke average in two tournaments this season. Hanus and Lee rank second and third with 75.5 and 75.7 scoring marks, respectively.
