TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's tennis team hits the road for a Saturday afternoon match at Ball State. The contest between the Rockets and Cardinals is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
"Our matches with Ball State have been close, much of the time, for a while," head coach Al Wermer said. "Generally, the play has been pretty high level, and it comes down to a handful of big points for both doubles and singles."

The Rockets opened up Mid-American Conference play last weekend with home matches against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, dropping both contests by identical 6-1 margins.
Against the Huskies in the MAC opener on Friday, sophomore Krzysztof Wetoszka defeated his NIU counterpart on the No. 2 singles court for the lone Toledo point. The Huskies were able to claim the doubles point and five of the six singles matches on a windy afternoon.
On Sunday, senior Thawin Suksathaporn won on the No. 3 court in three sets to claim the only Rocket victory against the Broncos. WMU came away victorious in doubles and won five of the six singles battles as well. Singles play was hotly contested on Sunday, with two matches going three sets and the No. 1 court ending on a long, second-set tiebreak.
