MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Toledo senior Joelle Gallais earned a chance at post-season diving after scoring an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying score of 229.75 on the platform on Saturday in the final day of the West Virginia Diving Invitational.

"Overall, I am really happy with the weekend," diving coach Gabby Agostino said. "I think we are in a good place and progressing in the right direction. This meet was great practice for MAC's and I am really excited to get back into training and work on the things we need to improve on."

Gallais finished first in the platform prelims/ quarterfinals with a five-dive round score of 229.75, good enough for an NCAA Zones qualifying mark.

Freshman Kassie Gutierrez also performed her first platform dive, and finished fourth in the prelims with a score of 191.75.

The Rockets have the rest of the month to rest and recover until their next event, the Zippy Invitational. The event runs Friday-Sunday, Dec. 3-5 at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium in Akron, Ohio.
