Toledo Travels to Akron for Zippy Invitational on Friday

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's swimming team will embark on three days of competition this weekend at the annual Zippy Invitational hosted by Akron. The UT diving team will not be making the trip.
The men's and women's invitational will run Friday-Sunday, Dec. 3-5 in the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium. Friday's prelims race time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., followed by diving at 1:00 p.m., and the swimming finals at 6:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
Toledo's diving team spent three days at the West Virginia Diving Invitational, where senior Joelle Gallais scored an NCAA Diving Zones platform qualifying score (229.75) on Nov. 20. Gallais also finished sixth in the three-meter and seventh in the one-meter. Sophomore Madison Giglio took first in the consolation bracket of the one-meter and fourth overall in the three-meter.
Last Time at the Zippy Invitational (2018-19)
Toledo had a strong showing at the 2018 Zippy Invitational. The Rockets earned a sixth-place finish with 710.5 points, recorded 86 season-best times and 14 career-best times, and had nine top-10 finishes. Former swimmer Ashley Jeffreys timed 55.85 in the 100 backstroke to rank No.7 in program history.
