TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo men's tennis will take the court for the ITA Midwest Regionals this weekend, in the singles and doubles draws. The tournament will be held on the campus of Michigan State University, Oct. 21-25.
"This is the showcase event of D-I Midwest tennis — which is quite a strong region," said head coach Al Wermer. "It's an opportunity for some strong matches to test yourself, plus a potential to advance, round-by-round, against some of the best in the country."
Last Time Out
Sophomore Adam Kovac finished with a combined 4-3 record after three days of competition at the Louisville Invitational. In his final match, Kovac was defeated by Indiana's Vikash Singh (6-2, 6-4). Also making an impact on the court was sophomore Pawit Sornlaksup, who went 2-1 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles play. Sornlaksup's loss was his first of the season.
Last Time at ITA Midwest Regionals (2019-20)
Junior Luis Kleinschnitz picked up a win in the qualifying singles consolation round by defeating Green Bay's Dipin Wadhwa, 6-3, 6-4. Additionally, senior Cole Shoults and junior Krzysztof Wetoszka both made it through the first round of qualifiers but were then defeated in the second round.
