Rockets Heading to Desert for Jackrabbit Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's golf team will spend part of its spring break in Nevada competing in the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City. The 54-hole tournament will be held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club on Monday-Tuesday, March 9-10 and be hosted by South Dakota State University.
The Rockets will be without seniors Thunpijja Sukkasem and Saranlak Tumfong, who are unable to play in the tournament due to illness. As a result, Toledo will only be able to utilize four players instead of a typical lineup of five. The Rockets' lineup will consist of senior Donchanok Toburint and freshmen Amelia Lee, Kathryn Roth and Claudia Sampson.
Coluccio said the spring-break trip will provide valuable experience for her young squad in addition to building even more team chemistry.

"We are planning on some extra playing and practice time while we are in the desert," Coluccio said. "We're going to visit the Hoover Dam which is a site that brings an amazing perspective what determination and teamwork can build. We will also experience some more of nature with hiking and just learning more about each other."

• The Rockets will be competing against Ball State, Boston College, Cal. State-Northridge, Creighton, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Loyola (Chicago), UNLV, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State.
ON THE HORIZON
• Toledo will be back in action on Friday-Sunday, March 20-22 when it travels to Gulf Shores, Ala. for the Bama Beach Bash.
