TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's track and field team is set to travel to Akron, Ohio for the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. 
 
Last Time Out
The Rockets closed out the regular season with Michigan's Silverston Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday. Senior Petronela Simiuc continued her record-breaking streak, this time shattering Toledo's indoor 800-meter record, posting a time of 2:08.23 to place second. The previous record of 2:09.20 was set by Janelle Noe. Toledo chalked up six top-10 finishes and junior Michelle Hostettler won the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:09.22. 
 
Last Time at the MAC Indoor Championships
The Rockets garnered a fourth-place team finish with 69 points at last season's MAC Indoor Championships, hosted by Kent State in Kent, Ohio. Atalia Lima became the first Rocket to win the pentathlon, scoring 3542 points, while Shanice Williams defended her 60 meters title with a time of 7.37 and Athena Welsh won the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:33.55. All three garnered First Team All-MAC honors for their performances. Toledo tallied a total of 17 top-10 finishes on the weekend.
