TAMPA, Fla. – The Toledo women's golf team opened its spring season at USF's Old Friends Invitational on Monday and improved their team score by 15 strokes from the first to second round. The Rockets are tied for sixth place in the tournament that is being played at the par-72, 6,286-yard Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club.

Senior Saranlak Tumfong carded the Rockets' best round of the day with a two-over par 74 in her second 18 holes and is tied for 16^th place at 10-over par 154 (80-74). Tumfong was at four-under par in her second round following an eagle on her fifth hole but registered a pair of double bogeys on the back nine.

Freshman Amelia Lee was the only Toledo golfer to register two rounds in the 70's and is tied for 20^th place at 12-over par 156 (77-79).

Senior Donchanok Toburint (30^th/85-76=161) and freshman Claudia Sampson (36^th/90-81=171) tied for the biggest improvement in the Rocket lineup with nine-stroke differences from the first to second round. Senior Thunpijja Sukkasem is tied for 32^nd place at 23-over par 167 (83-84).

Freshman Kathryn Roth is competing as an individual and posted a 14-stroke jump and is in 38^th place at 30-over par 182 (98-84).

Tomorrow's final round will begin with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
