GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Nate Thompson fired a one-under par 69 at the Florida Gators Invitational on Sunday to lead the Toledo men's golf team to its best round of the tournament. The Rockets carded a five-over par 285 today after shooting rounds of 299 and 298 on Saturday.

 "There were many, many positives to take away from the last three days," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "The ability of each of our players to bounce back from challenges was a huge steppingstone. We are looking forward to our next go-round at the Border Olympics."

Senior Grant Godfrey carded a one-over 71 today to post the team's best individual finish (T-44^th/74-74-71=219). Senior Rasmus Broholt Lind was one stroke behind Godfrey at 220 (T-48^th/76-71-73). Rounding out the Rocket lineup were sophomores David Amm (T-64^th/74-79-72) and Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (T-64^th/75-74-76) at 15-over par 225 along with Thomson (T-71^st/78-80-69) at 227.

The host Gators captured the tournament title that included seven teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 50 with a seven-under par 828. Florida freshman Ricky Castillo won the individual title with an impressive 13-under par 197 (70-63-64).

Toledo will return to action next week when it travels to Laredo, Texas for the Border Olympics on Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 24-25.
