Rocket junior is two shots out of first place
TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Bence Bertenyi continued his strong play at the Inverness Intercollegiate and is tied for third place at 1-under par following Monday's second round. Toledo is in 10th place in the team standings at 19-over par and just four shots out of sixth entering tomorrow's final 18 holes.
Bertenyi tallied three birdies in his round with his last one coming on the par-four, 387-yard 10th hole that put him into a tie for the lead. Senior Brooks Pawlak recorded the Rockets' second-best round of the day with a 3-over par 74 after being at even-par through his first 13 holes.
First-round leader Iowa continues to lead the tournament at 4-over par, but is just a single stroke ahead of Auburn and two in front of Texas Tech. The Tigers and Red Raiders joined Oklahoma in shooting the best round of the tournament with a 5-under par today.
Texas Tech's Ben Gregg holds a one-shot lead on the individual leaderboard at 3-under, one ahead of Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan. Gregg shot a tournament-low 5-under 66 today with Cowan firing a 4-under 67.
Toledo's tee times in tomorrow's final round will begin at 9:40 a.m. with coverage on ESPN+ slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
