TOLEDO, Ohio  - The Toledo men's tennis team defeated Northwestern Ohio, 6-1, at Shadow Valley Tennis Club on Friday, extending its home winning streak to three matches.

"A couple of doubles team were on fire today," said head coach Al Wermer. "Singles was a bit off and on, which we can't afford against most talented teams like this one."

The Rockets clinched the doubles point, with a quick 6-0 sweep on the No. 1 court from senior Danilo Vukotic/junior Filip Zupancic. On the No. 2 court sophomore Cole Shoults/freshman Krzysztof Wetoszka racked up a 6-1 win over their opponents.

In singles action, freshman Luis Kleinschnitz was first off the courts, sweeping David Ayguavives 6-0, 6-0, on the No. 5 court. Sophomore Cole Shoults posted the Rockets' third point, defeating Martin Stanchev, 6-4, 6-4, on the No. 3 court.  Vukotic posted clinch point for the Rockets with a 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Marcos Salazar on the No. 1 point. Zupancic battled through three sets, falling 7-5 in the first before sweeping the second 6-0 and sealing the win in the third 10-3. Wetoszka earned a win on the No. 2 court after his opponent foreited in the third set.
