BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's cross country team finished third at the Falcon Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman Ben Otis was the first Rocket to cross the line with a time of 25:25.9 to finish in 11th place. Sophomore Jake Rethman clocked a time of 25:35.5 to finish in 12th place, while sophomore Jacob Harris finished 17th with a time of 25:57.0.
Sophmore Jake Reaume was the fourth Rocket to cross the line at 26:43.8. Sophomore Alex Kelker finished slightly behind with a time of 26:58.9 (33rd) and freshman Ben Towler was at 27:00.5 (34th).
"It was a fantastic day to race and to have an opportunity to preview the MAC championship course. We also got to race against most of our main competitors for the upcoming championships and came away with some great information of where we stack up. Both men's and women's teams are young so it's very exciting. Particularly on the men's side where we also ran without two of our best. All in all a very solid day and I think our best race is still out there", stated Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough.
The Rockets finished third in the six-team field with 92 points. Eastern Michigan captured the team title with 35 points followed by Miami at 43 points.
The Rockets will next compete at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2:00 p.m.
