Martinho runs career-best time of 29:37.5 in 10K national championship
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Junior Joad Martinho wrapped up the 2025 men's cross country season representing the Toledo men's cross country team at the NCAA National Championship race on Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
Martinho competed against the top competitors in the country on Saturday and crossed the finish line with a final time of 29:37.5, setting a new career-best 10K time and placing 104th overall.
The Aulnay-sous-Bois, France native's 104th finish is the best individual finish in the national event for the Rockets since Phil Hinck placed 63rd in 1975. Martinho is the fifth Rocket all-time to represent the Toledo men's cross country team at the NCAA National Championship race.
Quoting Associate Head Coach Louis Vazquez
"It was a great season for Joad. He checked off a lot of the goals for the year, both as a team and an individual. He really grew up into a leader this year to lead this team to a MAC championship, the best regional finish as a team, and he capped it off with a great first run at the NCAA championship."
