TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team opened dual match play with a 4-3 victory over Youngstown State at home on Saturday. 
 
"I'm really proud of the effort that we started the season out with today," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "Sloane Teske and Patricia Panta played tough in singles and doubles in their first dual match as Rockets. Sloane has been ill and showed so much mental toughness to clinch the win for us." 
 
The Rockets clinched the doubles point early in the match. Junior Patricia Panta/freshman Sloane Teske defeated Lucia Zagar/Elvira Esteo 6-1. Senior Dee Dee Leenabanchong/sophomore Elieen Carney also posted a 6-1 win, defeating Imaan Hassim/Tamara Teufl on the No. 1 court.
 
Leading with the doubles point going into singles action, Leenabanchong and Panta posted  two-set victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts, respectively. Freshman Sloane Teske sealed the win for the Rockets after a three-set battle on the No. 4 court against Cassandra Moraleja, winning the first set, 6-3, before dropping the second, 6-7(10-12). Teske pushed through the third set, winning 6-2.
