TOLEDO, Ohio— With the 2020 baseball season just a few weeks away, Toledo baseball and head coach
Rob Reinstetle announced several improvements to the Rockets' field and surrounding facilities.
The following is a list of facilities improvements:
- Complete hallway and locker room renovation with new wall graphics.
- Rebuilt pitching mounds at Scott Park (game mound and home bullpen).
- Painted dugouts and installed new benches and new bat/helmet rack.
- New fencing down the left and right field sides.
- New LED lights and rebuilt turf pitching mounds in the indoor facility.
"We are very excited about all the renovations and work we have completed to this point," Reinstetle said. "As soon as I got here, my focus was to upgrade and enhance the areas that would impact player development. It's important that we provide the best student-athlete experience we can. Our players are thrilled with what we have done, and it has already had an impact on our recruiting efforts. I couldn't be happier with how everything has turned out."
"The overall feel of the new locker room is a huge upgrade," junior infielder
Chris Meyers said. "A lot of time and money was put into it and it shows. The team is more than thrilled with the improvements, I think they have given the program a new energy."
The Rockets open their season in Friday, Feb. 14 with a three-game series at East Tennessee State. Toledo's first home game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 against Youngstown State.
