Toledo Opens MAC Play Friday Night Against Buffalo

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team (3-5-0) opens up Mid-American Conference play Friday night, as the Rockets host Buffalo (3-3-1) at Paul Hotmer Field. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
"Buffalo will be a good test for our team to open up our conference season," said head coach TJ Buchholz. "They are a talented team that is well-coached. We have to build on our success against Detroit and be ready for a good challenge Friday night."
Following Friday's match, the Rockets will host Akron at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday, Sept. 29 for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The team will recognize their parents pre-game and alumni at halftime.

- Toledo swept MAC Player of the Week awards this week. Freshman Stephanie Currie was named offensive player of the week after recording a hat trick against Detroit Mercy, and junior Madison Perrin earned defensive player of the week after posting her 10th career shutout.
- Currie is coming off a record game, earning a hat trick in the Rockets' 4-0 win over Detroit Mercy. Currie became just the ninth player in program history to earn a hat trick and was the second in the last six years.
- Senior Abby Demboski recorded her second career converted PK against Detroit Mercy. Demboski also added her first career assist against the Titans.
- Perrin earned her 21st career win last Sunday; she is one win away from tying for the third-most in program history. Perrin was also credited with the shutout victory, tying for fourth in program history for career shutouts (10.0).
- Perrin is fourth in career saves, recording 201 through 45 games.
- Junior Sophia Lewis is just four assists away from the fifth-most career assists in program history.
- The Rockets have 13 goals from five different players.
- The Rockets are 2-1-0 at home this season, claiming victories over Oakland and Wright State.
- Buffalo is coming off of a 2-1 overtime loss to Pac-12 member Oregon. Buffalo's Marcy Barberic converted a PK against the Ducks in the 29th minute on Sunday.
