Toledo, Ohio— Three University of Toledo baseball players were named all-stars in their respective summer leagues recently. Nate Haugh, Kyle Jones and Ryan Thompson were all selected to represent their summer ball teams as all-stars.

Haugh was selected to play in the Prospect League All-Star Game as a representative of the Chillicothe Paints. He pitched a scoreless eighth inning and helped the East Division to a commanding 11-2 win over the West Division in the game. Haugh has been terrific this summer as the Paints' closer, striking out 37 and walking just six in 23.2 innings. His 10 saves lead the Prospect League.

Jones, pitching for the Traverse City Pit Spitters, was selected to participate in the Northwoods League All-Star Game. He threw two-thirds of an inning in the game and was on the winning side of a 5-2 decision, with the Great Lakes Division topping the Great Plains Division. Jones has had a terrific summer in the Northwoods League, where he owns a 2.48 ERA across 50.2 innings, highlighted by a complete-game shutout on June 16.

Thompson was picked to represent the Hamilton Joes in the Great Lakes League All-Star Game. The Joes' season recently ended with Thompson among the team leaders in several offensive categories. He tied for the team lead with a .330 batting average and three home runs, while leading the team with a .570 slugging percentage.
