Perrysburg, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Bowling Green at the Perrysburg Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The match featured a two-set sweep from senior Thalita Rodrigues and a three-set thriller from junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong.  
 
"This was a heartbreaking match for us," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "We played so tough to get that doubles point, but just didn't have enough gas in singles. This has been a mentally and physically challenging weekend. We will rest and get prepared for Western Michigan on Sunday." 
 
The Rockets clinched the doubles point with wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. Leenabanchong and senior Kokoro Chishaki put in work on the No. 1 court, slowly wearing away at  Paula Comella/Marharita Tavpash's defenses to win 7-6(9-7). Shortly thereafter, senior Claire Aleck and freshman Eileen Carney pushed past Marta Bettinelli/Laura Silveira 7-5 to clinch the doubles point. 
 
With the Rockets faltering on the No. 2, No. 3 courts, and No. 4  Rodrigues put the Rockets' second point on the board with a two-set sweep of Bettinelli 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 5 position. 
 
Down 3-2 against the Falcons, Leenabanchong and Aleck locked into three-set battles on the No. 1 and No. 6 courts. Leenabanchong broke her three-match losing streak on the No. 1 court after a nail-biter against Comella. Taking the first set 6-1, Leenabanchong dropped the second 6-7(5), but rose up to clinch the third 7-6(5). A point from Leenabanchong tied up the team scores at three all. 
 
Aleck was the last court on, locked in her own three-set thriller against Vanesa Pardo. Dropping the first set 4-6, Aleck won the second set 6-4 before falling 5-7 in the third.
