Rockets Ship Off to Bloomington for Hoosier Classic

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo softball teams is set to play its final spring tournament of the season this weekend when the team travels to Bloomington, Ind. for Indiana's Hoosier Classic. The Rockets will take on Indiana, Northwestern and Saint Francis over two days of action at Andy Mohr Field. Toledo's game against Indiana will be available to stream live on BTN2Go.

The Rockets are coming off a 1-4 showing in the USF Showcase in Clearwater, Fla. that saw Toledo earn a 9-8 win over St. John's but fall to Army (5-2), Colgate (1-0), Saint Joseph's (8-5) and Penn State (8-2). The highlights of the trip were freshman Aubrey Reed crushing her first collegiate home run in the game against The Red Storm, and seniors Kaitlyn Bergman and Katie Cozy homering in the final contest against PSU.

  • Sophomore Maggie McGurk ranks third in the league for ERA (1.91).
  • Sophomore Raelyn Nyren ranks seventh in fielding in the MAC. She also leads the league in HBP (5) and is ranked in the top-30 nationally.
  • Senior Megan Choate ranks fifth for OBP in the conference (.455)
  • Cozy is tied for third in doubles this season (6), and could leap to first if she hits two more this weekend.
