TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team heads south to Georgia early next week to compete in Kennesaw State's Pinetree Intercollegiate. The Rockets will be competing in this tournament for the first time and are playing on the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club. Tee times off No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 8:00 a.m. will be used both days of competition.
"The guys continue to log productive hours on the golf course and at our practice facilities, so I know they still have a lot in the tank this fall," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "They are always anxious to get back on the golf course and play tournament golf. Nate (Thomson) has played this event before and has told us great things about Pinetree Country Club. We are looking forward to hitting the road."
Sophomore David Amm is leading the Rockets with a 73.5 stroke average and is followed by senior Nate Thomson (74.4) and senior Grant Godfrey (74.7). Also competing for Toledo in Georgia will be senior Rasmus Broholt Lind and freshman Jack Doody.
THE FIELD
The Rockets will be a part of an 11-team field that also includes Austin Peay, Belmont, Jacksonville State, Loyola Chicago, Mercer, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Troy, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and the host Owls.
