Toledo Hits the Road for Two MAC Matches this Weekend

TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo volleyball team will be on the road this weekend, visiting MAC foes Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan.
Friday's match against the Eagles will begin at 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's match against the Chippewas will start at 8:00 p.m. Links for live stats and live streams are available below, and updates are also be available on Twitter at @Toledo_VB.

Last Time Out
Toledo dropped both of its matches at home last weekend, falling to MAC West opponents Western Michigan and Northern Illinois.
The Rockets were right there with the Broncos in all three sets on Friday, but WMU was able to pull away each time to come away with the victory. It was a back-and-forth affair, with the two teams fighting to 39 tie scores and 15 lead changes in three sets. Chloee Kleespies led the team with 12 kills and hit .300, while Zoe Birnbrich added eight terminations and Emma Swope tallied six.
The match against the Huskies was tied at 1-1 before a marathon third set ended at 28-26 in favor of NIU. The Huskies then won the fourth set handily to take home the victory. Birnbrich was terrific, hitting .520 and tallying a match-high 16 kills. Kleespies added 12 kills, while Ryann Jaqua and Emma Swope each recorded nine. Megan Beasley tied a career high with 44 assists and also contributed 13 digs

Central Michigan: The Chippewas sit atop the MAC with a 14-2 overall record and a 4-0 record in league play. They have won nine straight matches, tied with Akron for the longest current winning streak in the conference. CMU has pummeled opponents with 13.48 kills/set, tops in the MAC, and opponents are hitting just .151 against them. Kalina Smith is third in the league in kills/set (3.57) and is fourth in points/set (3.93).
