Toledo, Ohio— Seniors Brad Boss and Michael Jacob have been named team captains for Toledo baseball, head coach Cory Mee announced Tuesday.

Boss and Jacob will provide senior leadership to the Rockets this upcoming season.

A Temperance, Mich. native, Boss has suited up for 155 games in his Toledo career, including 55 last season. He tallied 38 walks, second-most ever in a single season by a Rocket and was one of just two players to start every game. The two-time Academic All-MAC selection hit .255 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs in 2018.

Jacob, a St. Clairsville, Ohio native, made the move into the rotation last season after two years as UT's closer. He ended up throwing 77.2 innings last year, the majority of which came as a starter, and owned a 4.75 ERA with 61 strikeouts. In his last start of the regular season, he threw a complete-game shutout against Bowling Green in which he struck out eight and walked none.
