Rockets Heading to Florida for UNF Collegiate on Monday and Tuesday

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo opens its spring break with a trip to the Sunshine State for an appearance in the fifth-annual UNF Collegiate. The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 36 being played on Monday, March 5 and the final 18 on Tuesday, March 6. An 8:30 a.m. shotgun start will be utilized each day at the par-72, 5,926-yard Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. The Rockets opened their spring season by capturing a tournament title in the Battle at Boulder Creek on Feb. 12-13 and will look to continue that momentum this week.
THE FIELD
• Seventeen schools are participating in the UNF Collegiate.
• Toledo is ranked No. 85 in the latest Golfstat computer rankings thanks to its performance against a competitive schedule. Also competing in Florida along with host No. 104 Ospreys is No. 54 Old Dominion, No. 65 Chattanooga, No. 89 Murray State, No. 102 Delaware, No. 112 Western Kentucky, No. 116 South Alabama, No. 122 Stetson, No. 123 Eastern Kentucky, No. 137 Xavier, No. 147 Charleston Southern, No. 157 Cincinnati, No. 167 UAB, No. 183 Samford and No. 229 Central Michigan,. NCAA Division II member Daytona State is also joining the field.

ROCKETS AT THE UNF COLLEGIATE
• Toledo will be making its first appearance at the UNF Collegiate.
• UT's lineup this week will include junior Pinyada Kuvanun at #1, junior Pimchanok Kawil at #2, sophomore Saranlak Tumfong at #3, junior Natcha Daengpiem at #4 and junior Hannah Kochendoerfer at #5.
LOOKING BACK AT THE BATTLE AT BOULDER CREEK
• Toledo won its first tournament of the season by posting a 13-stroke victory over fellow Mid-American Conference member Northern Illinois. The Rockets carded a team total of 50-over par 914 (313-298-303).
• Junior Pinyada Kuvanun won her first tournament as a collegian by finishing five strokes ahead of her nearest competitor. Kuvanun fired a two-under par 70 in the final round to finish at four-over par 220 (77-73-70). Kuvanun leads the Rockets with a 73.1 stroke average.
•  Junior Pimchanok Kawil also posted a Top Five showing for the Rockets by tying for fifth place at 12-over par 228 (74-77-77). Kawil ranks second on the team with a 74.1 scoring mark.
• Sophomore Saranlak Tumfong tied for ninth place at 16-over par 232 (80-74-78) and is third on the squad with a 75.6 stroke average.
ON THE HORIZON
• Toledo will return to action on Friday-Sunday, March 16-18 with a trip to Mesa, Ariz. for Notre Dame's Clover Cup.
