Rockets Post Seventh-Place Finish at Louisville's Cardinal Cup

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Toledo posted a seventh-place finish on Sunday at Louisville's Cardinal Cup. The Rockets shot a 56-over par 920 (316-300-304) at the University of Louisville Golf Club with No. 20 Illinois capturing the tournament title at one-under par 863.

"It was a solid tournament for us overall," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "Our performance in the second round was very strong in the conditions we faced. The whole weekend was filled with learning more about ourselves and our games. We're continuing to make progress each outing we have."

Junior Saranlak Tumfong carded the Rockets' best round of the day with a two-over par 74 and finished tied for 27th place at 13-over par 229 (78-77-74).

Senior Pinyada Kuvanun notched Toledo's best finish by tying for 20th place at nine-over par 225 (78-71-76) Senior Pimchanok Kawil trailed Tumfong by just two strokes and tied for 31st place at 15-over par 231 (79-75-77).

Rounding out the Rocket lineup were senior Natcha Daengpiem (T-54th/81-77-77=235) and junior Donchanok Toburint (77th/86-81-84=251).

The Fighting Illini's Tristyn Nowlin captured medalist honors at six-under par 210 (71-70-69) and was the only individual to shoot under par.
 
Toledo will take the next two weekends off before concluding its fall at Mercer's Idle Hour Collegiate Championship on Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 5-6.
