Men’s Tennis to Battle Second-Ranked Ohio State on Sunday

Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team will head to Columbus, Ohio on Sunday to square off against No. 2 Ohio State at the Buckeye Varsity Tennis Center. The action can been seen via live streaming on Ohio State's website, OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
"Our team wants to get better every day and every match," said head coach Al Wermer. "This is another amazing opportunity to strengthen our mindset and our games in a tremendous atmosphere that a great program like Ohio State always produces."
The Rockets return to the court after a 6-1 Sunday victory at Wright State in Dayton, Ohio. In doubles competition, the Rockets were led by juniors Luka Vitosevic and Vince Anzalone, who earned a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 spot, while junior Serjen Olmedo and sophomore Thawin Suksathaporn secured the doubles point for the Rockets with a 7-6(3) victory. On the singles side, the Rockets dominated play, securing victories in all but one of the six matches. Junior Reid Teatsorth secured a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the No. 3 slot, and sophomore Danilo Vukotic garnered a 6-4, 6-3 triumph to lead the Rockets to victory.
Sunday's match is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. first serve. The Rockets will face off against Illinois State in Normal, Ill. on Friday, Feb. 2 following Sunday's contest.
