Rockets Compete in All-Ohio Championships on Friday

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's and women's cross country teams take to Cedarville University for the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, Sept. 29 at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
The Rocket men's team will compete against 47 teams, including four from the Mid-American Conference, while the women's will run against 50 schools.
The 8K men's race is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. with the women following at 2:45 p.m. Both championship races will be live streamed on stretch internet.
Last time out, the men were led by Titus Koech who ran a 27:05.3 to finish 70th in the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. Dismas Koech (87th), Stalline Kurgat (91st), Alberto Chelimo (109th) and Daniel Kemboi (110th) rounded out the scoring for UT. The Rockets finished 14th in the meet as a team.
The women fared better than the men, taking 11th as a team in the same event. Toledo was led by Jennifer Lichter's 28th-place finish in 22:33.6. Zita Molnar put together a good performance and placed 50th in 22:55.7. Also scoring for the Rockets was Stephanie Barlow (74th), Michelle Hostettler (75th) and Joan Jepkirui (90th).
After the All-Ohio meet, the Rockets will split their squad for the Bradley Pink Classic and the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, respectively.
