UT Puts Five-Game Win Streak on the Line with Three Games at Miami

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo (17-23, 7-3 MAC) will take its five-game win streak to Oxford, Ohio for a cross-division series with Miami (18-15, 4-4 MAC) this weekend. The RedHawks will host UT in a single game on Friday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m., before returning to the Miami Softball Field on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.

ROCKET LEADERS
    Senior 2B Chandler Rice remains the Rockets' top offensive threat and heads into the weekend on a career-high 20-game reached-base streak. The Louisville, OH native holds a .385 batting average and 52 hits through UT's 40 games. Rice has scored a team-high 29 runs and recorded 91 total bases. The senior leads the team in slugging percentage (.674), doubles (11), triples (2), home runs (8), RBI (28) and stolen bases (13).
    Junior OF Ashley Rausch trails Rice with 34 hits, 24 runs scored and 11 swiped bags, while senior C Ashley Maynard has posted 20 RBI and five homers.
    In the circle, sophomore RHP Heather Webb (7-8) paces the pitching staff with a 4.12 ERA and 69 strikeouts in a team-high 105.1 innings of work. Webb has made 29 appearances, hurling for four complete games and recording one shutout.
MIAMI REDHAWKS BREAKDOWNÂ Â Â Â
    Miami enters the weekend series with an 18-15 overall record and 4-4 mark in the MAC. The RedHawks dropped three games to Ball State last weekend and split its midweek twinbill with the Falcons on Tuesday.
     Miami is hitting .274 as a team and average five runs a game so far this season. Sophomore SS Michaela Schlattman paces the team with a .362 batting average, 11 doubles and 29 runs. Sophomore 1B Johniann Wahl has tallied a team-high eight home runs.
     The RedHawk's pitching staff collectively hold a 4.19 ERA. Sophomore Shannon Hohman (6-4) leads Miami with a 3.22 ERA, two shutouts and 47 strikeouts in 69.2 innings pitched.

    The Rockets hold a one-game edged over Miami in the all-time series, 46-45. Miami won the three-game series last season, 2-1, in Toledo. The RedHawks bested UT, 6-5, in 10 innings in Game 1 of a doubleheader but Toledo claimed the nightcap, 13-10. Miami won the third contest, 12-1.
LOOKING AHEAD
    The Rockets will remain on the road for a single game against Eastern Michigan on April 12 in Ypsilanti, MI, before returning home to host Central Michigan on April 14-15.
