DEKALB, Ill – Toledo fell just short of Northern Illinois, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at NIU's West Tennis Courts. The Rockets fall to 8-9 overall and 0-4 in the Mid-American Conference.

The Huskies (8-10, 2-2 MAC) secured a 1-0 lead over UT by winning at first and third doubles.

The singles competition was split 3-3. Junior Colleen O'Brien bested Abigail Dekkinga, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles, while junior Megan Miller also recorded a straight-set win at the No. 5 spot over Brodie Walker.

Freshman Claire Aleck came from behind to win No. 6 singles in three frames. NIU's Evelyn Youel jumped ahead 6-2 in the opening set. Aleck fought back to win the second set, 7-5, and clinched the match with a convincing 6-1 victory in the finale.

Toledo will travel to Oxford, Ohio on April 7 to face Miami before returning home to host Ball State on April 9.
