Toledo Splits Team to Compete in Multiple Meets This Weekend

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo track & field program will split its team to compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Open in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.
The Rockets competed in the Raleigh Relays to start the outdoor season last weekend at NC State. Toledo was led by a pair of newcomers in the 400-meter hurdles. Yana Khabina placed sixth in the event with a time of 1:01.38, while Dandadeua da Silva finished in 1:02.35 to take ninth place.
The 3000m steeplechase was also a strength for the Rockets as Stephanie Barlow (10:51.22) finished 17th, Olivia Chinn (10:57.41) took 22nd and Zita Molnar (11:06.14) placed 27th.
Christina Johnson paced the Rocket sprinters with a ninth place finishe in the 200m dash and a 34th-place spot in the 100m.
Maddie Jarrett place eighth in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 meters and Ty'Shai Freeman leaped 11.59 meters in the triple jump, taking 16th place, to lead the field events.
Toledo returns home for one of two home meets on the season. UT will take on Bowling Green in the BGSU Dual on April 7.
