Toledo Opens Home Slate Saturday vs. Buffalo

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo will welcome Buffalo to Scott Park on April 1-2 for its home-opening weekend. The Rockets will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 1 starting at 1:00 p.m. UT will then return to the field on Sunday for a single contest against the Bulls at 11:00 a.m. or Noon, depending on the weather.
Saturday's twinbill will be broadcast on ESPN3.

ROCKET LEADERS
    Senior 2B Chandler Rice remains the Rockets' top offensive threat and heads into the weekend on a career-high 12-game hitting streak. The Louisville, OH native holds a .385 batting average and 45 hits through UT's 35 games. Rice has scored a team-high 24 runs and recorded 78 total bases. The senior leads the team in slugging percentage (.667), doubles (8), triples (2), home runs (7), RBI (23) and stolen bases (11). After last week's action vs. Ohio, Rice is now tied for first all-time at Toledo with 42 career doubles and 311 total bases.
    Junior OF Ashley Rausch trails Rice with 27 hits, six doubles, 19 runs scored and 10 swiped bags, while senior C Ashley Maynard has posted 18 RBI and five homers.
    In the circle, sophomore RHP Heather Webb (7-8) paces the pitching staff with a 4.03 ERA and 60 strikeouts in a team-high 97.1 innings of work. Webb has made 27 appearances, hurling for four complete games and recording one shutout.

BUFFALO BREAKDOWNÂ Â Â Â
    Buffalo enters the weekend with a 6-25 overall record and 1-2 mark in the conference. The Bulls dropped a doubleheader to Ball State last Saturday, 6-0, 9-1, but returned on Sunday to defeat the Cardinals in a single game, 7-4. The Bulls also split a midweek twinbill with Canisius College on Wednesday, winning the opening game, 7-6, but dropping the nightcap, 4-3.
    Buffalo is hitting .253 as a team and average three runs a game this season. Junior UT Danielle Lallos has recorded a team-high 13 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples and 34 total bases, while junior OF Leandra Jew paces the team with a .415 batting average.
    The Bulls' pitching staff holds a 4.87 ERA and average almost four strikeouts per game. Sophomore RHP Ally Power (3-7) leads Buffalo with a 3.55 ERA and 55 strikeouts through a team-high 69 innings.

    Buffalo holds a 14-12 edge over the Rockets in the all-time series. Last season, the Bobcats downed UT in all three meetings, 1-0, 2-0, 6-3.

    Toledo will remain in the Glass City for a midweek doubleheader vs. Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, April 4. The Rockets will then hit the road for a cross-division matchup vs. the RedHawks on April 7-8 and a single game against the Eagles on April 12 in Ypsilanti, MI.
