Toledo's Senior Day Spoiled by Western Michigan

TOLEDO, OH – Toledo was unable to secure a victory on senior day, dropping its dual match with Western Michgian, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.

With the loss, the Rockets fall to 8-11 overall and 2-4 in conference action.

"We had good energy today but just didn't execute well enough against WMU. We are taking important steps forward at certain spots which is so important down the stretch of he season," said head coach Tracy Mauntler.

The Broncos earned the doubles point, winning at spots No. 2 and 3.

Sophomore Sidnay Huck and freshman Claire Aleck claimed Toledo's only two singles victories. Huck bested Melina Lyubomirova, 7-6, 7-5, at first singles. Aleck won a tie-breaker at the No. 5 spot against Denise Azcui, 7-6, 4-6, 1-0.

Toledo will hit the road next weekend for Eastern Michigan. UT will battle the Eagles on April 15 at 1:00 p.m.
