Toledo Claims 4-3 Victory Over Youngstown State

TOLEDO, OH – Toledo women's tennis defeated Youngstown State, 4-3, in their first home match of the season. The Rockets improve to 2-4 on the season, while YSU drops to 0-5.

UT defeated the Penguins in two quick doubles matches, which caused the third to go unfinished.

Emily Mazzola and Sidnay Huck paired up at No. 1 doubles to defeat YSU 6-0. Claire Aleck and Lauren Thai also won their match 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Colleen O'Brien and Megan Miller were down 4-2 at No. 2 doubles before the match was called.

Toledo won three singles matches to gain the victory. All three matches were won in two sets.

Mazzola swiftly defeated Annina Brendel, 6-0, 6-2, at the No. 1 spot, while Colleen O'Brien won, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2 on the next court. Claire Aleck bested Ana Store, 6-3, 6-3, in the No. 5 slot.

The Rockets welcome Illinois Chicago to the Glass City tomorrow morning for a 10:00 a.m. match.
