Toledo Drops Final Game of Series With Charlotte, 8-0

Charlotte, NC – Toledo fell in the final game of the series to Charlotte, 8-0, at Hayes Stadium.  With the loss, the Rockets drop to 1-6-1 on the season.

Junior Kyle Slack picked up the loss after throwing three innings and allowing four runs. Josh Maciejewski earned the win for the Niners after pitching 7.1 scoreless frames and punching out six batters.
Â
Sophomore 1B Dalton Bollinger led the way offensively for UT after going 3-for-4 with a double. Junior DH Josh Cales also picked up a double for the Rockets.

Freshman Michael Jacob threw 2.0 scoreless innings for the Midnight Blue & Gold in relief.

Charlotte jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second. The Niners would add two more runs in the third to make the game 4-0.

Charlotte would bust the game open in fourth with four runs. Leading the way for the 49ers was Zach Jarrett, who went two-for-four with two RBI and one double. Brett Netzer also added two RBI.

Toledo continues the 2016 campaign at ACC member Duke on Friday, March 4th.Â
