Toledo Splits Pair of Home Matches

TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo men's tennis split their pair of home matches this weekend. The Rockets first defeated Duquesne, 6-1, before falling to Butler, 5-2.
"We had a very compelling match tonight. This will help us in a lot of ways, especially with having our freshmen's feet in the fire in a real pressure-cooker situation. Its only going to help us get better," head coach Al Wermer said.
UT and Duquesne each notched a doubles victory. Vince Anzalone and Serjen Olmedo paired up in No. 2 to defeat a Duquesne pair, 6-2, while the Dukes took the No. 3 doubles match, 6-3. Stjepan Sisko and Stephen Miller clinched the doubles point for the Rockets by winning the No. 1 doubles match, 6-4.
Toledo kept up their momentum by winning five out of six singles matches.

In match two, the Rockets clinched their second doubles point of the day. Sisko and Miller recorded a perfect 2-0 record on Saturday, winning their second doubles match, 6-2, at No. 1. Juan Carranza and Danilo Pejovic defeated Butler, 7-6, in a battle in the No. 3 slot.
Sisko was the only Rocket to win a singles match against Butler. Sisko defeated Mikheil Khmiadashvil, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot.
