Rockets Suffer 3-0 Loss in MAC Match to Western Michigan

Kalamazoo, MI – Toledo dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-17) decision to Western Michigan (6-12, 1-4 MAC) on Friday, Oct. 7 in University Arena. UT falls to 10-7 on the season and 3-2 in league contests.

"It just wasn't our night. Western Michigan played very well and was the better team tonight," said head coach Greg Smith.

Junior OH Annie Beasley led Toledo's attack by posting seven terminations, while junior OH Saige Thomas followed with five. Beasley also recorded a team-high .385 attack percentage. Sophomore S Carly Townsend tallied 18 assists.

Defensively, sophomore libero Maurissa Leonard led the backcourt with 15 digs.

The Rockets' attack could not compete with WMU's efficiency throughout the match, as the Broncos recorded an impressive .458 ATK% as a team in the second set and a .529 mark in the third.

UT travels to DeKalb, IL tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. CT match vs. Northern Illinois.
