LOUISVILLE, KY - Sophomore Alberto Chelimo crossed the line in 32nd place to lead the Rockets to a 10th place finish in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
Chelimo ran the 8k course in 25:01.78 to claim the top spot for the Rockets. Fellow sophomore Titus Koech placed 39 in a time of 25:09.91 as the second UT runner to finish.
Freshman Dismas Koech ran his first race in the Midnight Blue and Gold and finished 44th in a time of 25:11.72. Junior Stalline Kurgat crossed the line in 74th, registering a time of 25:50.56.
Junior Louis Guardiola (95th place) rounded out the scoring for the Rockets in 26:08.98.
The cross country teams will run again in two weeks at the adidas Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, IN on Oct. 15.
