Junior Sathika Ruenreong ties for 23rd place to lead Toledo
COLUMBUS, OH – Toledo finished in 11th place at this weekend's Lady Buckeye Invitational after carding a team score of 29-over par 317 in Sunday's final round to finish with a total of 934.
Junior Sathika Ruenreong paced the Rockets in the 54-hole event at 13-over par 229 (76-75-78) to tie for 23rd place. Junior Morgan Salm carded UT's best round today with a five-over par 77 and tied for 35th place at 17-over par 233 (76-80-77).
Freshman Napaphan Phongpaiboon tied for45th place at 20-over par 236 (74-81-81) with senior Jennifer Elsholz two strokes behind her at 22-over par 238 (80-76-82) to tie for 51st place. Rounding out the Rocket lineup were junior Manisa Isavas (T-56th/80-80-81=241) and senior Stephanie St-Jean (T-65th/83-81-82=246).
Kent State captured the team title at 19-over par 883 (289-296-298), three strokes ahead of the host Buckeyes (298-290-298). The Golden Flashes' Josee Doyon earned medalist honors with an impressive four-under par 212 (70-70-72).
Toledo will now set its sights on the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend. The tournament will be held on Friday-Sunday, April 24-26 in Lebanon, OH.
