Toledo in 11th Place Following Day One of Buckeye Spring Invitational

COLUMBUS, OH – Junior Sathika Ruenreong leads the Rockets at seven-over par 151 following the first two rounds on Saturday at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. As a team, the Rockets sit in 11th place with a team score of 41-over par 617 (306-311).
Ruenreong, who carded rounds of 76 and 75, was at one-over par after 13 holes in the second round until notching a double bogey. Freshman Napaphan Phongpaiboon shot UT's best round of the day with a two-over par 74 in her first 18 holes and is tied for 40th place at 11-over par 155 (74-81).
Senior Jennifer Elsholz and junior Morgan Salm are each tied for 44th place at 12-over par 156, while junior Manisa Isavas is tied for 56th place at 16-over par 160 (80-80). Rounding out the Rocket lineup is senior Stephanie St-Jean tied for 67th place at 20-over par 164 (83-81).
"I was really disappointed with our play today," Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. "We didn't have anyone besides Sathika show up to play a complete golf tournament. Napaphan shot a 74 and Jen and Morgan each shot 76s but we need to perform better to be successful.
Kent State is leading the team standings at nine-over par 585 (289-296), three strokes ahead of the host Buckeyes (298-290).
The final round of the tournament will be held tomorrow and will start at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
