Rockets Host Michigan State and Duquesne in a Pair of Dual Meets

TOLEDO, OH – Toledo swimming and diving welcomes Michigan State and Duquesne to the UT Student Rec Center this weekend for a pair of dual meets. The Rockets face off against MSU on Friday at 5:00 p.m. and will return on Saturday to meet the Dukes in the pool at 1:00 p.m.
Last season, UT fell 187-110 to the Spartans at MSU's McCaffree Pool, while recording five wins on the night.
Senior Mary Dombkowski scored in the 1,650-yard freestyle, while fellow senior Brooke Edwards won the following event, the 200-yard freestyle. Edwards added a second win later in the meet in the 100-yard freestyle.
Sophomore Kat Streicher took home a win in the 200-yard butterfly while senior Samantha Richart tallied the final win for Toledo in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Rockets opened their 2014-15 season with a 141-121 triumph over Duquesne, recording victories in eight of the 14 events.
The Rockets set two pool records in the meet, as former Rocket Maria Bargardi won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.51 and Richart placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.86.
Streicher made her collegiate debut winning the 100-yard butterfly and finishing runner-up in the 200-yard butterfly. Comer scored two wins while Dombkowski and Edwards each collected a victory.
