SOUTH BEND, IN - Toledo (0-1) will look to rebound from a season-opening loss when it takes on No. 3 Notre Dame (1-0) on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in non-conference action. The opening tip against the nationally ranked Fighting Irish is slated for 7:00 p.m. in the Purcell Pavilion and will be shown on ESPN3.
The Rockets are coming off a 62-59 setback against Pac-12 member Arizona in Saturday's season opener before 3,713 fans at Savage Arena.
The Wildcats' Breanna Workman scored the game's final three points to provide the difference in the season opener. Workman converted a layup with 1:10 remaining in regulation and split a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left to give UA the three-point road win.
UT had one final chance to force overtime in the waning seconds, but sophomore Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott's three-point field goal from the wing bounced off the rim as the final horn sounded.
Senior Brenae Harris led Toledo with 12 points and four assists, followed by junior Sophie Reecher and sophomore Jada Woody with 11 points each. Redshirt freshman Mikaela Boyd added nine points off the bench and Bravo-Harriott had seven.
Toledo will face one of the nation's top teams in UND, which opened its season with an impressive 85-54 home victory against Bucknell on Sunday.
Preseason Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year Brianna Turner and Madison Cable led a balanced attack against the Bison with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
The Fighting Irish, who are the clear favorite in the annual ACC preseason polls, has advanced to the championship game in the NCAA Tournament each of the last two years.
Toledo and Notre Dame will meet for the seventh time in the overall series. The all-time series between the Rockets and Fighting Irish is tied at 3-3. UND has won the last three match-ups in the series, most recently securing a 68-52 victory on Nov. 20, 1999 in Savage Arena.

Following tomorrow's contest, Toledo will travel to Rhode Island to take part in the URI Tip-Off Classic on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 21-22. The Rockets will battle America East Conference member Albany in the first round on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Thomas M. Ryan Center. UT will then take on either host Atlantic-10 Conference member Rhode Island or Ivy League participant Harvard on Sunday at either Noon or 3:00 p.m.
