TOLEDO, OH – Toledo fell to Buffalo (8-5-2, 4-2-1 MAC) on Friday, 3-1. With the loss, the Rockets drop to 6-10-0 overall, and 2-5-0 in Mid-American Conference play.
The Bulls netted three markers, with two coming from Kassidy Kidd in the second half. Toledo earned their first penalty kick of the year, and Sophomore Isa Echeverri found the back of the net for her third goal of the season.
After early pressure from Echeverri and the Rockets, UB lit the scoreboard up on the counter attack during the 11th minute. UT was able to gain multiple chances at goal in the first half, but could not convert their shots.
The match was very physical, and sophomore Sydney Vinton earned a yellow card early in the 53rd minute. In the same minute, Echeverri was fouled inside the box to earn the penalty kick she would convert. Buffalo would find the back of the net once more late in the half.
Freshman keeper Katie Wilson gave up her first markers of the year, breaking her clean sheet streak of 235:16 minutes straight.Â
The Midnight Blue & Gold will continue MAC play against Akron on Sunday, Oct. 6 at noon. The fixture can be seen on GoZips.com.
