
Rockets Open West Coast Trip with Third-Straight Road Win

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Toledo extended its dual-match win streak to three on Thursday afternoon with a 5-2 triumph over Loyola-Marymount in San Diego, Calif. All three wins have been on the road and the Rockets now stand at 14-6 overall after winning seven of their previous eight matches.
The Midnight Blue & Gold claimed two wins in doubles competition to clinch the point over LMU. Sophmore Tomas Stillman paired up with sophomore Nicky Wong for an 8-5 victory at the top doubles flight, while senior Bryant Dudzik teamed up with freshman Ryan Jorgensen at No. 3 doubles to clinch the best-of-three action by a score of 8-6.
In singles play, Toledo manufactured three come-from-behind victories to clinch the match and Stillman picked up the only straight-set victory in the first flight.
After going down 3-6 in the first set at No. 2 singles, sophomore Grant Adams bounced back with convincing 6-1 and 6-3 wins in the final two sets to earn his 12th-consecutive singles victory dating back to Jan. 26. Seniors Francisco Stuardo and Bryant Dudzik also battled back to win in three sets at the third and sixth spots.
The three UT doubles teams will begin competing in the 124th edition of the prestigious USTA Pacific Coast Doubles Championships in La Jolla, Calif. on Thursday night through the weekend.
UT added another dual match to the weekend trip on Sunday morning versus Villanova. That match is slated for 9:30 a.m. PT.
