Rockets Place 10th at Crooked Stick Intercollegiate

CARMEL, IN – Toledo concluded the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate on Tuesday with a 10th-place showing. The Rockets posted a 54-hole score of 921 (303-313-305) in a field that included six teams ranked in the Top 50 of the Golfstat rankings. UT finished five strokes ahead of fellow MAC member Eastern Michigan (310-305-311=926) and nine in front of Ball State (320-299-311=930).
Junior Chris Selfridge paced the Rockets by tying for 25th place at 12-over par 228 (78-75-75) with sophomore Otto Black one stroke behind tied for 29th place at 13-over par 229 (75-77-77).
Junior Nate Gonring matched Selfridge for Toledo's best round of the day with a three-over 75 and tied for 39th place at 15-over par 231 (76-80-75). Junior Jamie Richardson tied for 47th place at 233 (74-81-78), while junior Mike Lancaster tied for 70th place at 242 (79-82-81=242).
Arkansas' Sebastian Cappelen captured medalist honors at four-under par 212 (70-71-71) to help the No. 25 Razorbacks rally from a six-stroke deficit to win the tournament title with an 11-over par 875 (306-285-284)
Toledo returns to action next week when it looks to defend its title at the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21-22 in Beallsville, MD.
