Thomas' Eighth-Place Finish Leads Rockets at MSU

East Lansing, MI - Junior Nick Thomas placed eighth overall with a time of 24:48 to lead the Toledo men's cross country team Friday at the Spartan Invitational at Michigan State's Forest Akers East Golf Course.
Finishing second for UT was senior Jonathan DeWitt who crossed the finish line in 27th place with a time of 25:15. Rounding out Toledo's top-five finishers were Jake Kasperski (48th; 25:45), Daniel Thompson (61st; 25:59) and Jacob Barnes (82nd place; 26:13).
Also running for the Rockets were Trevin Flickinger (125th; 26:57), Adam Smercina (132nd; 27:01), Nick Brenner (151st; 27:26), Ricky Adamson (152nd; 27:26) and Cory Schoendorf (182nd; 28:03).
Team scores were not kept at this meet.
The next competition for the men's team is the Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, IL on Oct.1.
