The Minutemen (1-4) scored single runs in the second and sixth runs to hand UT its fourth-consecutive setback.
Junior RHP Lincoln Rassi (0-3) was saddled with the loss, allowing one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
UT plated its lone tally in the eighth frame when junior Matt Delewski collected a two-out RBI single after classmate Joe Corfman registered a one-out double. The Rockets also had a chance score a run in the second inning when they had runners on second and third base with two outs, but a strikeout stalled the potential big frame.
Delewski (2-for-4, RBI) and Corfman (2-for-4, RS) paced the Midnight Blue & Gold with two hits each.
Glen Misho (1-1) went the distance for UMass, limiting the Rockets to eight hits with eight punchouts to pick up the complete-game victory.
The Minutemen jumped on the scoreboard first with the aid of a walk, a stolen base, a UT infield error and a wild pitch in the second inning. The home team then registered the eventual game-winning run with an one- out RBI single up the middle off the bat of Tom Conley.
UT returns to action on Wednesday, March 16 when they play at Wright State. The opening pitch from Nischwitz Stadium is slated for 6:30 p.m.
