Rockets Finish Eighth at UK Bluegrass Invitational

LEXINGTON, KY - Toledo registered an eighth-place finish at this weekend's 24-team UK Bluegrass Invitational marking its third-straight Top 10 showing.
Junior Ben Boyer paced the Rockets by tying for 11th place with an even-par 213 (70-71-72). Freshman Josh Agin also produced another strong tournament with a three-over par 216 (71-71-74) to tie for 25th place. Sophomore Michael Cermak tied for 39th place and recovered from an opening round 78 with a three-under 69 and one-over 72 in the final two rounds. Senior Jerel Whiting tied for 63rd place at nine-over par 222 (72-76-74), and sophomore Dugan Murphy tied for 100th place at 16-over par 229 (80-74-75).
Murray State (284-278-288-850) won the team title by one stroke over Memphis (287-280-284-851). The individual title was claimed by Auburn's John Stembridge with a seven-under-par 206, one stroke ahead of Memphis' Jonathan Fly (70-69-68=207).
Toledo returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25 with a trip to West Lafayette, IN for the Boilermaker Invitational.
