Rockets Maintain Perfect Mark with 3-0 Sweep Over Liberty

LOUISVILLE, KY - Toledo's hot start to begin the 2009 campaign continued Friday evening with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-23) triumph over Liberty (3-4) in its first match of this weekend's Louisville Invitational. The Rockets are now 7-0 and have equaled the second-best start to a season in school history.
Freshman OH Sondra Parys led UT with 13 kills and posted a .409 attack percentage. Senior MB Sarah Wilson and junior OH Margot Joniec also played vital roles offensively with .545 (6-0-11) and .462 (7-1-13) hitting marks, respectively.
Sophomore libero Jessica Dhoore led UT defensively with nine digs.
Nicki Scripko led Liberty offensively with 15 kills.
The Rockets return to action on Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. contest vs. the host Cardinals. UT will then close out the tournament with a 5:00 p.m. matchup vs. Tennessee Tech.
