Rockets in Fourth Place After First Round of Brickyard Preview

Indianapolis, IN-Toledo sits in fourth place after shooting a team score of 300 on Monday afternoon at the Mid-American Conference Preview Tournament played at Brickyard Crossing.

Junior Boram Lee (38-35) and Erica Rivard (36-37) led the Rockets by carding one-over par 73's and are tied for sixth place in the individual standings. Ball State's Brittany Kelly and Eastern Michigan's Stephany Fleet both fired three-under par 69's to lead the 65-player field.

“We made some improvement from our tournament over the weekend and that was good to see,” Toledo Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. “We had four rounds in the 70s and that's what you need to do have a chance to be successful.”

Other Rockets competing in the event are freshman Michelle Hui (T-19^th/39-37=76), sophomore Marguerite Johnson (T-28^th/38-40=78) and senior Joanna Periversoff (T-63^rd/43-47=90). Sophomore Paige Timmer is competing as an individual and is tied for 51^st place with an 83. (45-38).

Ball State leads the 11-team event by four strokes over second-place Indiana State (298). Also competing in the tournament are Eastern Michigan (299), Bradley (301), Western Michigan (306), Ohio (308), Northern Illinois (309), Indianapolis (311), Bowling Green (318) and Loyola (IL) (319).

Tuesday's round is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
